Nana Addo at the exhibition centre
The presidential hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, yesterday went to his hometown, Kyebi, in the Eastern Region, to check and get his name verified in the electoral roll in the ongoing voters’ register exhibition exercise.
Nana Akufo-Addo, flanked by the Abuakwa South Member of Parliament (MP), Samuel Atta Akyea, the constituency executives, among others, was briefed by the EC officials on how the exercise is being conducted.
He also inspected the number of registered voters who had also verified their names.
Nana Akufo-Addo, who is optimistic of winning the upcoming presidential poll, in an address to the media, urged prospective voters to fully participate in the exercise to ensure victory for the party.
The exhibition of the voters’ register began on Monday, July 18, 2016 and ends on Sunday, August 7.
This is to offer prospective voters the chance to check whether their biometric details on the register are correct and their fingerprint verified to avoid any inconvenience and embarrassment during the general elections.
According to Nana Akufo-Addo, “If you do not make sure that your name is in the register and the data are correct, you will not be allowed to vote on the day of election; so I will appeal to you to make sure you partake in the process.”
After being verified, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid a courtesy call on the Abotendomhene of Kyebi, Osabarima Kyeretwie Boakye Danquah, who doubles as the chief of Kyebi.
They both held a closed door meeting.
