Napo Makes Case For Busia

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has made a passionate appeal to the people of Wenchi to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming December 7 election, saying it would be a fitting tribute to the late former Prime Minister, Kofi Abrefa Busia.

Speaking at a campaign rally in the community, Napo explained “Wenchi has always been a stronghold of the NPP, and it’s time to reclaim our seat. By voting for Bawumia, you will be honoring the legacy of Dr. Busia, who did his best for this country,” Napo said during a campaign stop in Wenchi, accompanied by top NPP officials.

The Wenchi constituency has a rich history with the NPP, having produced notable leaders like former President John Kufuor and President Nana Akufo-Addo.
However, the constituency was lost to the NDC in the 2020 elections.

Napo reminded the residents that Dr. Busia’s contributions to the country and the Progress Party, which later gave birth to the NPP, should not be forgotten.

“A vote for Bawumia will ensure that Dr. Busia’s memory is honored and his legacy lives on,” he added.

The NPP Parliamentary candidate for Wenchi, Kojo Frempong, pledged to work tirelessly to win back the seat for the NPP.

“I need your support to ensure a resounding victory in December,” he urged the chiefs and residents.

Omanhene of Wenchi, Nana Ampem Anye Amoampong Tabrako III, commended Dr. Opoku Prempeh for his exceptional performance in government.

“We appreciate your efforts, and we look forward to more support from the government to address our challenges,” he said.
