Ras Mubarak
Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Kumbungu in the Northern Region, Ras Mubarak, has threatened to kill any political opponent who trespasses on his property.
He warned his opponents being the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that “if you trespass on my house, you are dead . . . I will kill you if you dare me.”
He was reacting to pockets of violence that rocked the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in Accra last Thursday where a by-election was held following the untimely death of the sitting MP, Emmanuel Agyarko.
He complained on Okay FM in Accra yesterday that some people besieged the residence of the NDC candidate, Delali Kwasi Brempong, to cause mayhem during the election.
He then swore that if that had happened to him, he would have surely fired a weapon.
“If we are talking about proper ammunition then I will show them that there are guns,” he said, sending a stern warning to the NPP that he was ready for them.
Interestingly, there has not been any proof that NPP supporters stormed the residence of the NDC candidate, where the shots were reportedly fired but Ras Mubarak insisted that the NPP sympathizers should take the blame.
“You see, we are finding it difficult to even restrain our boys, so we are issuing a word of caution to the NPP and their boys; we will reply in equal measure,” he said.
