Nigerian High Commissioner Calls On Minister In Tamale

As part of efforts to strengthen the already existing ties between Ghana and Nigeria, the Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Olufemi Abikoye, has paid a courtesy call on the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Sa-eed.

Mr Olufemi Abikoye expressed the gratitude of the Nigerian government to the minister, thanking him for the hospitality accorded Nigerians in the region.

Tamale has been known to be the home of many Nigerians and Nigerian businesses.

The region provides shelter for a large number of Nigerian immigrants who are involved in various economic activities and are contributing to the growth of the economy of the region and the metropolis, to be precise.

According to the envoy, the average Nigerian prefers to do business in Ghana, particularly Tamale, due to the many opportunities, the homely environment and the welcoming nature of Northerners.

He added that the Nigerian government is much pleased with the safety and security enjoyed by Nigerians in the region and the fact that they have the peace of mind and stability to carry out their businesses.

He further encouraged Nigerians in the country to be of good behaviour and obey the laws of the nation.

Envoy Abikoye asserted that the region is endowed with vast arable land and a good weather for farming. He therefore, urged the Nigerian community to take advantage of it and venture into farming.

Solomon Boar, Deputy Northern Regional Minister, indicated that Nigerians in the region have been comporting themselves well and have also contributed to the drastic growth of the economy in the metropolis.

Mr. Salifu Sa-eed, the Northern Regional Minister, said his outfit is giving all the support to both local and Nigerian business people in the metropolis.
