The Colleges of Education Non-Teaching Staff Association of Ghana is scheduled to meet today April 13, 2022 to hold a meeting with the National Labour Commission over concerns that have led to their indefinite strike.
The Non-Teaching Staff of the College of Education had declared indefinite strike from Monday, April 11, 2022 over what the association describes as the reluctance of the appropriate authorities to act on their demand for better conditions of service.
According to them, their strike is grounded on various issues including wrong placement of First Degree Holders, Non-payment of migration arrears, exclusion of payment of Generic Allowances, partial payment of Office Holding Allowances, and non-payment of Interim Market Premium arrears.
The National Secretary of the Association, Samuel Opoku, expressed optimism ahead of the meeting.
He said “We plan to honour NLC’s invitation today. What we will do is to task the employers to do the needful. The NLC won’t solve the problem. We expect them to task the ones involved to do as we demand.”
