The Electoral Commission , has slated the North East Council of State election re-run on Monday, February 17, 2025.
A statement signed by Samuel Tettey, EC Deputy Chairman, Operations, noted that there was a tie in the Election in the North East Region where the top two candidates each had six (6) votes and as such the election has to be re-run.
The EC statement further indicated that the Commission has written to the Ghana Police Service and copied the National Election Security Taskforce to heighten security at the venues of the elections to prevent any disruptions.
