The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has affirmed its number one position on the ballot paper for the December 7, 2020 elections.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, John Boadu, NPP says it was “pleased to inform the Ghanaian people that the party’s position as the number one(1) political party in Ghana and the pacesetter of unprecedented records in government has again been affirmed by the Almighty as the party picks the number one position on the 2020 ballot.”
“This is certainly no mean a coincidence because the party has, time without number, shown the way as the model of good governance, competent leadership and socioeconomic transformation of the fortunes of this country,” it said.
The EC did the balloting on Tuesday, October 20, 2020.
According to the statement,
“The NPP is the number one political party in Ghana to implement the biggest educational intervention in the country’s post-independence history, the Free SHS policy, which is helping to secure the future of some 1.5 million Ghanaian youth.”
“The NPP is the number one political party in Ghana that has been able to provide free water and free electricity to Ghanaians for more than 6 months.”
“The NPP is the number one political party in Ghana to implement the biggest health intervention programme in the country’s post-independence history, which is the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and has consistently saved the Scheme from collapse.”
“The NPP is the number one political party in Ghana to implement the biggest intervention in the nation’s agriculture sector, which is the Planting for Food and Jobs.”
“The NPP is the number one political party in Ghana that has constructed or facilitated the construction of over 79 factories under the famous 1D1F initiative.”
“The NPP is the number one political party in Ghana that has consistently kept the lights on (i.e. ensured a no dumsor republic) throughout its tenure of office.”
“The NPP is the number one political party in Ghana that has successfully commenced the construction of the single largest infrastructure project in Northern Ghana since independence, which is the Pwalugu Irrigation Project.”
