NPP Lost Base On Alot Of Factors- Salam Mustapha

In a candid and introspective statement, Salam Mustapha, the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has acknowledged the party’s crushing defeat in the December 7 elections.

In a statement which has been widely shared on social media, Salam Mustapha offers a nuanced and empathetic perspective on the party’s loss, while also outlining a roadmap for rebuilding and redemption.

Mustapha began by acknowledging the pain and disappointment felt by NPP supporters, particularly the youth, who had invested heavily in the campaign. “I can feel your souls and spirits splitting up,” he wrote.

“For, especially the youth who gave their all for this campaign, I can understand your pain. I’m more pained and saddened that we disappointed you.”

The NPP Youth Organizer took responsibility for the party’s defeat, acknowledging that the national executives, including himself, must bear the brunt of criticism.

“It’s okay to rant and vent out your spleen,” he said. “It’s okay to come for our heads as national executive. The principle of ultimate responsibility makes it imperative that we take your scorn, opprobrium, and even insults.”

Mustapha attributed the party’s loss to a combination of factors, including the apathy of its base and the economic issues that affected many Ghanaians.

He called for a thorough post-mortem analysis of the election results to identify the causes of the defeat and to inform the party’s rebuilding efforts.

“We will regroup and come back harder,” Mustapha declared, echoing the sentiments of the party’s Flagbearer.

“Let’s pick up the pieces and mend them, and move ahead. It’s not going to be easy, but it’s possible.”

The NPP Youth Organizer expressed his commitment to putting his energy into rebuilding the party and getting back to winning ways.

He also urged party supporters to propose constructive ideas for critical reforms to rebuilding the party.

“I have overwhelming trust and faith in our collective strength and our resolve and know that, we will bounce back with a bang,” he said.
