Simon Osei-Mensah
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei-Mensah, has indicated that the NPP Government is now building “a proper” international airport for Kumasi.
According to him, the current airport the NDC calls Kumasi International Airport does fit an international standard.
He stated that simply extending an airport runway doesn’t make the airport an international one.
According to him, since the NDC completed the Kumasi airport project and named it an international airport, no single international flight has landed in Kumasi.
He said by the middle of 2021, Ghanaians will see a proper Kumasi international airport
He said the current government was extending the runway by 230meters.
The Minister made the assertions in Accra on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, while making a presentation at the Information Ministry’s Nation Building Updates.
The theme for today’s update is: Rebuilding the Ghanaian Economy.
The Minister said several infrastructure projects were taking place in the Region.
He said 189 roads contracts have been awarded by the NPP government.
He stated that claims by some persons that government has abandoned health projects started by the Mahama’s administration was false.
