He stated that “The National Executive Committee initially decided that the constituency elections would be held between 28th April and 2nd May. But we have postponed it. However, all is on course. In fact, nominations will be opened and closed between the 19th and 20th of April and vetting of prospective aspirants will be done between 21st and 22nd April.

“If there is any redress, it will also be held between 23rd and 24th of April,” he said.

Opening of nomination will start June1 to 4, 2022 ahead of vetting of aspirants on June 7 to 10, 2022 before appeals onJune 15 to 20, 2022 and release of appeals report from June 22, 2022.

Already, the party has stated that as part of measures to make nomination forms more accessible to all interested party members, it has resolved to upload the forms on its website and social media platforms for free downloads.

The General Secretary of the party, John Boadu has said members who would download the forms would be required to submit the completed nomination forms to the respective offices.

He also indicated that notwithstanding the upload of the forms online, the party would send at least five hardcopies of the nomination forms to each Electoral Area for interested members.

Touching on some developments that had emerged from the party’s recently held polling station elections, the NPP’s chief scribe said the party would take disciplinary action against all persons whose actions resulted in bringing the name of the party into disrepute during the elections.

According to him, although the party’s recent polling stations elections were largely successful, the exercise witnessed pockets of disturbances in some places.

For him, many of the issues that resulted in the disturbances could have been avoided if the aggrieved supporters had used the party’s laid down procedures to resolve them.
