The Minister for Railway Development, Joe Ghartey, has emphasized that the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is poised to transform the nation in all sectors of the economy.
“The face of this nation is going to change. We are going to get out of stagnation and backwardness and move our country onto the path of progress and prosperity.
He pointed out that the current ministers under the current administration have the capacity to change the lives of Ghanaians for the better.
According to him, Ghanaians voted for the NPP to serve them and indicated that government would work to improve their living standards.
“The Nana Akufo-Addo administration is committed to doing things differently to better the lives of all Ghanaians. Free SHS is coming, ‘Planting for food and jobs’ as well as other initiatives are ongoing,” he added.
Mr Joe Ghartey, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado-Ketan in the Western Region, was addressing NPP faithful at the party’s Regional Delegates’ Conference in Takoradi.
He indicated that the NPP has a credible record of delivering results.
“We have shown both with our philosophy and our policy actions that ours is the party that believes in the wellbeing of the people,” he noted.
“We believe in enterprise because we know that when businesses thrive, society benefits from the profits of enterprise. So the government will continue to create the enabling environment for businesses to thrive,” the minister pointed out.
He told Ghanaians that the NPP was pushing for policies that are jobs-focused, promote low taxes, ensure access to affordable and competitive credits and make investors feel confident that their ventures would grow.
Mr Ghartey gave the assurance that the railway sector and other sectors of the economy would very soon create the numerous jobs that the young people of Ghana are yearning for.
He commanded the executives of the NPP at all levels in the region for their hard work which saw the region increasing its parliamentary seats from eight to 16 in the 2016 elections and called on all the party members to remain united.
