The Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has rekindled the party’s spirit in the Ashanti Region through a consultative, rejuvenating, and invigorating tour led by the National Youth Organiser, Salam Mustapha.
The tour began on Wednesday April 17 and ended on Saturday April 20.
Salam Mustapha was accompanied by the party’s constituency and regional youth organisers, as well as other young leaders.
The team went on media tours to explain why the Ashanti Region should rally behind Dr. Bawumia. There were visits to 13 constituencies.
In each constituency, the team engaged targeted youth groups to rally support for the party’s 2024 campaign.
The team emphasised the need for the region’s youth to actively participate in the campaigns rather than simply voting for the party.
A case was also made for the endorsement of the party’s parliamentary candidates across all constituencies in the region.
Some of the constituencies visited were Bosome Freho, Juaben, Agona, Ejura, Kwabre East, Ejisu, Old Tafo, Manhyia South, Manhyia North, Oforikrom, and Bantama.
Mini rallies were held in some of the constituencies.
The NPP National Youth Organiser, Salam Mustapha called on Ghanaians to make a critical choice in the 2024 polls.
Mustapha told the media that the 2024 election will be decided on the basis of the records of the two main candidates, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the NPP and John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He distinguished between the two candidates, saying that, “Dr. Bawumia is a thinker and John Mahama is not.”
He also stated that Dr. Bawumia is the best candidate in the 2024 election, highlighting his unique traits as a visionary and listening leader.
Salam Mustapha asked residents of the Ashanti Region to support Dr. Bawumia’s presidential bid because he is incorruptible, unlike his main opponent, John Dramani Mahama, who has been linked to corruption scandals such as the Airbus and the Ford sagas.
He dared anyone with a corruption charge against Dr. Bawumia to make it public.
Salam Mustapha and his team also took time to educate first-time voters in the Ashanti Region on how to fully engage in this year’s limited voter registration exercise, which runs from May 7 to 27.
The team has promised to replicate the same engagement activities in other regions.
