MP Patrick Yaw Boamah presenting a token to Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard Dela Dogbe
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has donated 1,000 packs of bottled water and an undisclosed amount of money to the Christian Council of Ghana in support of its Easter celebration activities.
The donation, made on Tuesday, is aimed at assisting the Council’s events during Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Monday, including church conventions, community picnics, and other spiritual gatherings.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Boamah said the gesture was inspired by the spirit of giving and sharing that characterises the Holy Week.
“So I decided to come and donate 1,000 boxes of water and a modest token to support the World Ecclesiastical System,” he noted, expressing his commitment to promoting religious unity and faith-based support.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Council, Rt. Rev. Dr. Hilliard Dela Dogbe, Chairman of the Christian Council, expressed deep appreciation for the MP’s generosity, describing it as both timely and meaningful.
“We’ve had the blessing of encountering you on several occasions, and your faith is unquestionable. Scripture tells us: ‘Blessed is the hand that gives and the hand that takes.’ Your act of kindness is deeply appreciated,” Dr. Dogbe remarked.
He also offered heartfelt blessings to the MP, saying, “Water will never run dry in your land; food will never be scarce. May God’s grace and peace dwell with you, and may all your dreams be fulfilled.”
MP Boamah, visibly moved by the warm reception, reiterated his commitment to supporting community-based and faith-led initiatives.
Also speaking at the event, Lt. Col. Justice Isaac Incoom, Secretary for Programmes at The Salvation Army Ghana, described the donation as historic.
“This is unprecedented. We often see support during Muslim fasts, but rarely during Christian observances. Hon. Boamah has set a remarkable example,” he said.
He encouraged other leaders to emulate the gesture, noting, “As you’ve started, we pray others will follow. Let ministers and MPs remember the Christian community too, so everyone feels truly embraced.”
