Peter Boamah Otokunor
Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Boamah Otokunor has made his intention known to lead the NDC as General Secretary.
Former Deputy Finance Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu South, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey has also announced his bid to occupy the same position.
This will leave the two personalities to battle it out as who becomes the next occupant of the position being currently occupied by Johnson Asiedu Nketia.
Asiedu Nketia has served the party as General Secretary for the past 17 years and he is also gunning to oust Samuel Ofosu Ampofo to become the next National Chairman.
Asiedu Nketia is said to have given his full support to Otokunor for a musical chair national party election.
The opposition NDC is expected to hold its regional conference in October 2022 to elect its regional executive members, while that of national executive members will be held in November 2022.
