About 10,000 needy students will soon receive exercise books from the Otumfuo Charity Foundation free of charge.
The move by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is geared towards boost reading and learning in the Ashanti Region and beyond.
The exercise books were donated to the Otumfuo Charity Foundation by Oheneba Poku Foundation in Kumasi recently.
Oheneba Poku Foundation is in charge of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Blaze Metal Resources, a private firm which operates in Ghana, Congo, Uganda, Zambia, Europe and United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Baffuor Kwame Kusi, the Ankobiahene, commended the donors for the gesture.
He said the foundation would distribute the books to 10,000 needy school-children to help improve their academic performance.
Baffuor Kwame Kusi urged corporations to emulate the shining example of the Oheneba Poku Foundation.
Fred Kyei Sarpong, Executive Director, Oheneba Poku Foundation, pledged to support Otumfuo to boost education.
Yaw Oppong Agyeman, Country Manager, Blaze Metal Resources said, “We are proud to donate to the Otumfuo Foundation.”
He expressed the readiness of his outfit to support activities to mark the 20th Anniversary of ascension of the golden stool by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
