“Para Athletes Will Give Ghana Gold”

The Deputy Director General, (Technical )of the National Sports Authority(NSA) Joshua Mensah is brimming with confidence that Ghana’s para athletes will make a good representation at the forthcoming paralympic games.

At a media briefing in Accra on Tuesday, he revealed that unlike their able-bodied counterparts who returned home empty-handed in the Rio Olympics, the physically challenged will win the country medals.

He said “The athletes have prepared themselves very well for the games and would certainly do something different and must be supported to succeed.”

Deputy Minister for Gender and Social Protection, Dela Sowah pledged her outfit’s support for the para athletes and expressed the hope that they will win gold in Rio.

The National Paralympic Committee (NPC) at the launch of the campaign revealed that the three athletes representing the country- Alem Mumuni, Charles Narh and Yussif Adamu have fully prepared to act as worthy ambassadors.

The Paralympic Games is scheduled for September 7 – 18 in Rio.
