Arnav Nambiar and his delegation from Limitless Ghana making the presentation
The Ghana Paralympic ambassador, Arnav Nambiar, has offered support to some selected persons suffering with disabilities in the country to enable them to survive the Covid-19 outbreak.
Arnav donated quantities of food items to the Accra Rehabilitation Centre on Tuesday, with the sole intention of contributing into the upkeep of the inmates of the centre.
Items such as bags of rice, boxes of Milo food drink and several others were presented to the management of the centre during a colourful but short ceremony, which was graced by some few people.
Arnav, a high school student of the Lincoln Community School, owns Limitless Ghana, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), which is into supporting people with disabilities in the country.
The decision to establish the foundation was reached after Arnav was involved in an accident which left him in a wheelchair and crutches for some weeks.
Since the formation of Limitless Ghana, several people have benefited from Arnav’s kindness and support to help better their lives.
Following his positive works, the National Paralympic Committee appointed Arnav as the ambassador for the Ghana Paralympic team for the Tokyo Games, which is on hold due to Covid-19.
“It is my job as ambassador for the paralympics team to help the community in Accra during these difficult times,” Arnav said.
“The outbreak of the coronavirus has showed us how vulnerable we are as a society to disasters. It has also showed us how we may not necessarily be prepared to deal with a pandemic of this proportion,” he added.
