Two suspects, believed to be land guards, have been arrested for vandalising the Awutu Oshimpo Chief’s Palace and stealing eight pieces of the chief’s clothing, CCTV cameras, and chief stools.
The Central East Regional Police Command is pursuing other suspects who are at large.
The attack occurred when the suspects stormed the palace, fired multiple live rounds, and forcibly removed the main door before ransacking the premises.
The Chief of Awutu Oshimpo, Nai Okogyeaman Mensah, said that his personal clothing and the palace’s main door were among the items stolen.
