The Denu District Police Command has appealed to the public to assist it to identify the family of the lady who is alleged to have been murdered at Akame.
The lady’s body was said to have been secretly deposited at a morgue at Agbozume.
The Police have had a hard time locating family members of the deceased because she is believed to be a Beninois.
As at the time of publishing this story, the family of the key suspect in the case, who is the husband of the deceased had sent emissaries to Benin to locate the family members of the deceased.
38-year-old Gali Golo who is a fisherman is reported to have murdered his wife, Beatrice Logosu last Saturday night, March 27 2021, after an altercation.
According to the suspect, the altercation was premised on the allegation of infidelity by the wife. He told the Police that his wife’s infidelity was revealed by the shrine where they both worshipped in the Aflao area.
He proceeded to eject the wife from their home at Akame, but she refused. The altercation degenerated, leading to the death of the wife. He then deposited the body at the Hossana Clinic Morgue at Agbozume.
The Police were informed the following morning, Sunday, March 28, 2021. They have since taken over the body which had been embalmed by the morgue attendants.
The District Commander, ASP Joseph Nakoja, says preliminary examination of the body show bruises and several signs of violence, including what appears to be a broken jaw and neck.
He said the Police is working with all stakeholder; family of the suspect, the clinic and the family of the deceased who is yet to be located to facilitate an autopsy to move the investigations forward.
The deceased and the suspect who have a three-year-old child together met at Kasoa in Accra in 2016 and decided to get married in 2017 after the lady got pregnant. The daughter is currently living with a relative of the man.
The suspect has since been remanded by the Aflao Magistrate Court.
