FORMER PRESIDENT Jerry John Rawlings has reportedly gone to the rescue of his dispatch rider who was shot multiple times last Saturday at Community 22 in Tema.
Information available to DGN Online states that Sergeant Atsu Sekey, who survived over 10 pallets sprayed on him by unknown assailants has been referred to Ridge Hospital in Accra for further treatment upon request of the former President.
He was initially rushed to the Tema General Hospital where he was receiving treatment at the Emergency Unit of the hospital but it appears his recovery was not as expected, hence the decision to transfer him to a bigger health facility.
The shooting incident happened at about 10:30 pm on July 13, 2019 when the officer was on patrol duties at Community 22 Junction on his motorbike with registration number GP 4405.
He had escorted Flt Lt Rawlings to Aqua Safari Resort in Ada in the Greater Accra Region earlier in the day before the incidence happened.
