With a spectacular performance, the Redemption Methodist Choir has won the maiden Okaikwei Central Choir Competition which was held at the Apenkwa Astro Turf last Saturday in Accra.
Redemption Methodist Choir beat competition from 29 other choir groups to win the competition, which was sponsored by the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Patrick Boamah.
In the maiden edition, five outstanding groups secured a spot in the finals namely: Redemption Methodist, The True Church of Christ, Global Evangelical Church, Abeka Mossama, and Omnipotent Church.
After a captivating display of musical artistry, Redemption Methodist emerged triumphant as the winner of the 2023 Okaikwei Central Choir Competition.
Their outstanding performance earned them the acclaim of both judges and spectators alike.
Congratulations poured in for all the choirs that participated, contributing to the success of the musical extravaganza.
As the winner, Redemption Methodist Choir stands as a testament to the vibrant and thriving musical community in the constituency, the MP said when presenting a cheque of GH¢20,000 to the choir.
He called on the remaining four finalists to keep the fire burning to make the programme a success next year.
He appealed to the winners to work and rival the likes of Winenba Youth, and Tema Youth choirs, among others.
