The Reha-Medical Supply Ghana Limited has donated 80 beds to eight health facilities in the Greater Accra and Central Regions.
The beneficiary hospitals are Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), 37 Military Hospital, Tema General Hospital, Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) Hospital, Achimota Hospital, La General Hospital, Greater Accra Police Hospital and Kasoa Polyclinic.
Twenty of the beds were presented to the Korle-Bu Hospital, 10 each to the 37 Military Hospital, Tema General Hospital, LEKMA Hospital, La General Hospital and the Greater Accra Police Hospital.
The Achimota Hospital and Kasoa Polyclinic each received five beds.
At a ceremony held on Thursday in Accra to present the beds, Executive Chairman of Reha-Medical Supply Ghana, Harry B. Sintim-Aboagye, expressed worry about the negative developments which have bedevilled the country’s hospitals in recent times and called on other organisations to extend a helping hand.
He indicated that the purpose of the donation is to ensure that precious lives are saved and quality healthcare delivery enhanced.
Mr Sintim-Aboagye told DAILY GUIDE that the beds were distributed to the hospitals according to their sizes and added, “We are always ready to provide more of the beds to the hospitals if they are able to keep them in good condition.”
The Acting Medical Director of the Greater Accra Police Hospital, DCOP Dr Marian Tetteh-Korboe, who received the items on behalf of the hospitals, expressed gratitude to Reha-Medical Supply Ghana for their kind gesture.
She promised that the items would be used effectively to enhance healthcare delivery.
DCOP Dr Tetteh-Korboe also made a passionate appeal to corporate organisations in the country to support hospitals across the country with equipment to enhance quality healthcare delivery.
