The late Hajia Risi Ali Vanderpuiye
Hajia Risi Ali Vanderpuiye, a prominent businesswoman and philanthropist has passed on, which sad incident occurred last Saturday in Accra.
News about her death shook the Islamic community in Accra, her philanthropic activities having touched many lives.
Her hosting of the annual celebration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), otherwise known as Maulud, has always attracted many clerics and others from far and wide, including Senegal.
Before her death, she provided lighting to the Awudome Cemetery and a water reserve for the Kotobabi Experimental School in Accra, not forgetting the sponsorship of over twenty persons to perform the Hajj during the last Hajj.
She is also a patron of an orphanage at Alajo.
She was also a donor of two equipment to the Mamobi Polyclinic to support babies born with severe conditions of jaundice.
The daughter of a former shipping magnate, the late Alhaji Ali, the deceased passed on aboard a flight from Abuja, Nigeria last Friday with her husband Alhaji Amasa Vanderpuiye. She was 59 and was interred yesterday afternoon in Accra.
