Rotary District 9102 Touts Humanitarian Support

Vice Rotary President, Nicki Scott, has praised Rotary International District 9102, made up of Ghana, Togo, Benin and Niger for its unmatched support to humanity, focusing on diversity, equality and inclusion.

According to Ms. Nicki, District 9102 has made exceptional impact in the lives of its people in line with the seven areas of Rotary services; peace building and conflict prevention, basic education and literacy, disease prevention and treatment, water sanitation and hygiene, community economic development , material and children’s health and supporting the environment .

As far as gender empowerment is concerned, Ms. Nicki congratulated the district for exceeding the 30 per cent global level for female participation in Rotary.

“Your organization’s leadership has impacted many lives over the years, and caring for our future prospects is the right way to move forward. The future heartbeat of the organization is you, and it’s inspiring to see what you’ve achieved this year” she said.

During his state of district 9102 address, District Governor, Victor Yaw Asante, stressed the impact the club has made on the seven areas of service totaling millions of dollars.

Furthermore, he highlighted that District Tree Planting remains one of Rotary’s most significant landmark projects.

He continued that, “Protecting our environment is critical to ensuring sustainability supported by RI President, Jennifer Jones, during her visit to Ghana where she led Rotarians in partnership with the Forestry Commission, to plant over a thousand trees to protect the banks of Weija dam”.

Mr. Asante also revealed that various training sessions and seminars for district and club leaders were held. This included the district membership seminar, the Rotary foundation seminar, and the public image seminar which attracted massive participation.

“Beyond Imagination as our theme for this conference should drive us to work tirelessly to achieve our goals towards a world without polio, a world with clean water for everyone, a world free of disease, a world where every child learns to read and a world full of kindness, hope, love, and peace” he added.
