The first qualification round of the most anticipated corporate golf platform – GEC Open – opened at the Royal Golf Club, Kumasi, over the weekend to a well-organised ceremony.
The event saw over 35 top corporate golfers battle for the ultimate prize, but it was Prof. Baiden, captain of the Royal Golf Club, who picked the first winning ticket to represent Ghana at the world finals in March 2020 in Dubai.
Kwadwo Okyei-Gyeabour and Kwadwo Kyei emerged second and third place respectively in the men’s category, while Felicity Gyeabour topped the lady’s category, with Christiana Oppong and Louisa Yorke picking the second and third positions in that order.
The second qualification round tees off at the Achimota Golf Club this Saturday, and it is set to see a showcase of talent from Ghana’s top corporate golf amateurs.
