Salifu Saeed handing over to Shani Alhassan Shaibu at the Regional Coordinating council in Tamale
Former Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed has handed over to the newly appointed Northern Regional Minister,Shani Alhassan Shaibu.
The handing over ceremony took place at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) on Monday March 15, 2021.
Mr Saeed thanked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for giving him the opportunity to serve as the regional minister for four years.
He also thanked staff of the coordinating council for their support and called on them to give their full support to the new regional minister for the development of the region and Ghana as a whole.
Mr. Saeed said development of the north will depend on the current peace in the region and called on the people of the north to ensure that the peace in the region was sustained for the region to enjoy the necessary development.
The former minister indicated that the Northern region has a lot of potentials and advised the newly appointed minister to take advantage of the potentials and continue with the developmental plan for the region.
He thanked the regional executives of the NPP, religious leaders , media , security agencies in the region for the massive support during his regime.
The newly appointed Northern Regional Minister, Mr. Shaibu, thanked the former minister for his role in the development of the region for the past four years.
According to him, the development of the region depended on the entire coordinating council , the people of Dagbon and called on them for their support.
“ The Coordinating council is made up of several units and for that matter we will have to put our talents together to be able to achieve the results that we have set to achieve and we can only achieve that when we are United.”
He stated that the office of the regional minister will be opened for the public to contribute towards development of the region.
Mr. Shaibu assured the people of the Dagbon that he would work hard to transform the region and lobby for the necessary developmental projects to the region for the development of the north.
