Sammy Awuku arrived in the company of supporters
NATIONAL YOUTH Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, yesterday arrived at the party’s Asylum Down headquarters in a spectacular fashion to pick his nomination forms.
Mr. Awuku joined other candidates who had picked their forms to contest for various positions in the party slated for Friday, June 15 to Sunday, June 17, 2018, in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.

Mr Sammi Awuku, who is vying for the position of National Organizer of the party, arrived yesterday morning accompanied by a huge number of supporters who chanted his name throughout the process. Also among his entourage was a long fleet of motorbikes.
In a brief interview with journalists after picking the nomination forms, Mr Sammi Awuku said, “I am vying for the position of National Organizer because I want to coordinate all groupings in the party so as to position the party to win elections.”
He added that he would focus much on the grassroots and seek their welfare when elected into office.
Alhaji Sulemana Atakpo, a Nasara Coordinator aspirant, also arrived at the party’s headquarters to pick his forms.

He expressed the belief that Nasara has been uplifted and so needs to be rebranded administratively to make it more attractive; and for this reason and more, he is joining the race.
In all, 33 candidates have picked nomination forms for the NPP’s upcoming national delegates’ congress. The deadline for the nominations is Thursday, May 10. More candidates are expected to pick theirs.
