The management of Scratch Studios & Music Publishing has announced plans of organising two major musical concerts in the country to outdoor all the artistes on its record label and to unearth new music talents.
The two concerts, which will be held in Accra and Kumasi, will also feature some selected international artistes from France, Ivory Coast and Nigeria.
The names of all the artistes billed for the two events, according to the organisers, will be announced soon.
The concerts will be packaged to give artistes on the bill and music fans a memorable occasion that goes beyond dishing out thrilling outstanding performances.
It will also serve as a platform for several up-and-coming local artistes to prove their worth on stage in the presence of thousands of music lovers.
“It will also be a good occasion for the underground artistes in Ghana to sell their music to the thousands of patrons who will be at venues,” the organisers told BEATWAVES.
Before the concerts, Scratch Studios & Music Publishing will host a day music seminar for music publishers, artistes and stakeholders in the music industry in Ghana.
The seminar will provide artistes, music publishers and other stakeholders in the music industry with insight and knowledge about marketing and distribution of musical works, artiste management, copyright law, among others.
“Our aim is to help Ghanaian music to grow internationally and we are working very hard to achieve our aim. Our music needs to be recognized out there… that’s out target now,” they added.
Based on its commitment in promoting Ghanaian music on the international music market, Scratch Studios & Music Publishing represented Ghana at the Marché International du Disque et de l’Edition Musicale (Midem) held in Cannes, France, from June 7 to 9, 2017.
Scratch & Music Publishing was represented at Midem by Paa K. Holbrook-Smith, Michael Bamfo and singer and songwriter on the Scratch label, SSUE.
The Scratch Studios stands at Midem exhibited literature materials on Ghanaian music, culture and tourism.
Since 2013, Scratch Studios has produced a number of artistes and became the second company from Africa after South Africa to ever attend Midem.
Scratch Studios is the brain behind the Dream Child charity music concert.
