Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to be released from prison earlier than expected after enrolling in a federal drug rehabilitation program.
Public records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons show his new release date is now April 25, 2028, approximately six weeks earlier than the previous date of June 4, 2028. The change follows his admission into the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) in November, which allows eligible inmates to earn sentence reductions upon successful completion.
A spokesperson for the Bad Boy Records founder said Combs is “fully engaged” in the program and committed to personal growth and positive change.
His release date had previously been extended in November 2025 from May 8 to June 4, 2028, after allegations that he violated prison rules at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
Combs, convicted on two counts related to transportation for prostitution, is still appealing his four-year sentence, arguing that the verdict was flawed and the punishment excessive. Federal prosecutors have urged the court to uphold both the conviction and sentence.
The early release adjustment marks a small but significant step forward for Combs as he continues his rehabilitation and ongoing legal battles.
