Participants at the conference. INSET: Samuel Owusu Boadi
HEAD OF Hive Ghana, Samuel Owusu Boadi, has entreated the youth to grab the opportunities Hive platform provides to make financial gains.
Speaking at a conference at the Great Hall, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Mr. Boadi said Hive promotes sustainable industrialization by lowering the barriers to creating local, small-scale manufacturing businesses for products needed in the immediate community.
He said Hive provides technical assistance and capacity building and other accelerated programmes focused on non-hardware startups, and support services.
He highlighted that Hive rewards users for their contributions to the platform, adding that, for over two years, HIVE has been dedicated to providing essential services to rural communities, including free water, health screenings, and educational support for disadvantaged students.
Mr. Owusu Boadi further indicated that a total of 14 rural communities have profited from Hive’s borehole water project while reiterating the company’s commitment to commissioning new ones in the coming months.
Dr. Rose-Mary Owusuaa Mensah Gyening, a lecturer at KNUST, emphasized the societal benefits of adopting the new internet, especially in addressing technology solutions for marginalized communities.
The conference, held on March 9, attracted a diverse audience, including KNUST students and individuals from the Ashanti and Northern regions.
It served as a platform to showcase innovative ideas in the technological landscape.
