Kwame Adinkra
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has urged ace broadcast journalist, Kwame Adinkra of Abuasua FM, to stay in Kumasi and work to help expedite development of the area.
He admonished the award-winning journalist not to be enticed with money or any juicy offer which is intended to again pluck him away from Kumasi to Accra.
Otumfuo observed that Kwame Adinkra’s one-year absence from Kumasi has had adverse effects on the radio industry in the Ashanti Region, saying, “I even stopped listening to radio whilst you were away from Kumasi.”
Now that Kwame Adinkra is back in the Garden City, the Asante Monarch stated that he would now begin to listen to radio again as he used to do some time past.
He recounted Kwame Adinkra’s significant contributions through radio, pointing out that he is happy that Kwame Adinkra is finally back to Kumasi.
Otumfuo was addressing the staff of Abusua FM in Kumasi, led by Kwame Adinkra, who paid a courtesy call on him (Otumfuo) at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Wednesday afternoon.
He called for decency on radio, stating that acts such as insults and insinuations that have the potential of creating unnecessary tension in the country should be relegated to the background by broadcast journalists.
