Member of Parliament (MP) for Suhum in the Eastern Region, Frederick Opare Ansah, has urged his constituents to rally behind the Akufo-Addo-led administration.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo has several laudable policies that are being implemented and will soon yield positive results for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
Opare Ansah made these known when he was addressing residents of Afransu-Dedewa as part of his five-day tour of his constituency to interact with the residents.
He also schooled them on key government policies such as the ‘Double Track Free SHS System’, ‘One District, One Factory’, NEIP, YEA, ban on galamsey, reduction in utility tariffs, among other laudable initiatives and policies.
The tour which started on Tuesday took him through Ayebronmu North and Ayebronmu South, Osafohene Atiemokrom and Oforikrom.
As part of his tour, the Suhum MP donated items worth over GH¢50,000 to these electoral areas.
Depending on the needs of the various communities, the items included 940 bags of cement, 25 packets of roofing sheets, wheelbarrows, shovels, wellington boots, horns, microphones, amplifiers, galvanized pipes, among other items.
Some residents who were in attendance congratulated the MP on the donation. The residents also used the opportunity to tell the MP about their challenges and pleaded with him to come to their aid.
At Afransu Dedewa, the residents complained about some illegal sand winning activities currently ongoing in the area. According to them, the sand winners do so under the protection of land guards, destroying their farms indiscriminately.
Opare Ansah, however, assured them that he would take up the challenge and report the issue to the appropriate quarters for redress.
He is expected to complete the tour on 2nd August, where he will visit Nartey Anoma, Ahenbronmu, Newtown South and Newtown North electoral areas.
