The Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Tano North, Freda Prempeh has indicated that she is lobbying for more women in her constituency to get access to MASLOC loans to expand their businesses.
She said currently 600 women in her constituency have been given MASLOC loans to start businesses or expand existing ones while 400 more have been penciled to benefit from MASLOC loans this year.
The Tano North MP made these known when she presented 200 street lights to assembly members in the Tano North constituency to help improve security in their various electoral areas.
The Deputy Minister said through her efforts, she has been able to acquire a big transformer to ensure that electricity is supplied to Kwasoagya community in her constituency.
“I have have given GHC30,000 worth of hospital equipment each to Bomaa Health Centre and Subongpang CHPS compound and rehabilitated a number of CHPS compounds in the constituency including New Gyaakye CHPS compound,” she said stressing 24 boreholes have been sunk in some communities in her constituency which do not have access to potable water..
According to the Tano North MP, because education is one of her topmost priorities, she has provided 300 needy but brilliant students in SHS and tertiary institutions scholarships to enable them complete their education.
“Through the various youth employment programmes under the NPP government, more than 2,500 youth in my constituency have been provided with jobs”
She said some roads in the constituency are being constructed stressing that it is her avowed aim to ensure that every community in her constituency gets access to health facility, electricity and potable water.
