Atta Mensah Kuma showing the fake documents
THE TEMA branch of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in the Greater Accra Region has intercepted some fake documents covering four uncustomed vehicles which being wanted for registration by the Authority.
Members of the syndicate involved in the crime are at large, but after intercepting the documents, which cover the vehicles smuggled into the country, the security agents have mounted a manhunt for the perpetrators.
The fabricated documents cover SUV cars such as BMW X3 (2011 model), Ford Edge (2012 model), Toyota Hiace and Opel Zafira (2000 model).
They were said to have forged the signature of the Customs officer stationed at the Tema DVLA, declaration documents and Customs release stamps to outwit the authority in order for the cars to be registered, but they were detected.
Speaking to DAILY GUIDE, Atta Mensah Kuma, Director of Tema DVLA, noted that the individuals, upon hearing of the interception of the documents, refused to bring the cars to be processed for registration.
He said he was going to ensure that sanity prevails at the DVLA in order for the state to get the needed revenue for development.
