Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints officials presenting some of the items to the Tamale Children’s Home
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has supported Persons with disabilities, the Tamale Children’s Home, and vulnerable people in society with some food items in Tamale, the Northern region.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints donated rice, oil, beans, gari, mackerels, tin tomatoes, chicken, sugar, salt, Millet, spaghetti, soaps, toiletries, and other food items to the beneficiaries.
The Church also announced the building of a new boys’ dormitory and kitchen for the Tamale Children’s Home.
The Church also fed over 800 vulnerable people in the Tamale metropolis.
Elder S. Gifford Nielsen, Area President of the Africa-West Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who donated said the light has evolved into a cherished Christmas tradition.
“Annually, we come together with friends and neighbors to relieve each other’s burdens and commemorate the birth and teachings of Jesus Christ through acts of service. Our objective is to foster kindness and harmony within our communities and among our neighbors, echoing the sentiment of ‘Peace, goodwill toward men’ (Luke 2:14). This year, our focus is on emphasizing the importance of loving our neighbors”.
He thanked Gulkpe Naa and his elders and other stakeholders for their continuous support to the Church and called on the good people of Tamale and its environs to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to participate in the 25 Ways in 25 Days” by carrying out small acts of kindness each day.
“Using the ’25 Ways in 25 Days’ guide, you can connect with others, reach out to a grandparent, express gratitude to those around you, share a song, offer a prayer, share a scripture, express love to someone, give a small gift, perform a good deed, share uplifting content on social media, and much more”.
