Three Hills Limited, the franchise holders and authorised distributors of XL95 Rice in Ghana, has strongly denied a false and misleading video currently circulating on TikTok which falsely claims that the rice is plastic and unsafe for human consumption.
The company wishes to assure the general public and all stakeholders that XL95 Rice is a 100% natural grain product, sourced from reputable international partners and imported under strict regulatory compliance. The rice is fully registered with Ghana’s Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) and meets all required health and safety standards.
“We are deeply concerned by the content of the video and wish to categorically state that the claims made are completely false,” said Richmond Drey, director at Three Hills Limited. “XL95 Rice is safe, nutritious, and undergoes rigorous quality checks by the FDA before reaching the Ghanaian market. The TikTok video is not only misleading, but also malicious in its intent to undermine consumer confidence.”
Contrary to claims made in the video, XL95 Rice is officially registered at the Food and Drugs Authority Three Hills Limited has made the documentation available to the appropriate authorities for verification.
The company has since reported the case to the Ghana Police Service and has formally alerted the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) of Ghana. Three Hills Limited is working closely with both institutions to investigate the matter and identify the originators of the video for appropriate legal action.
