Lecturers of Takoradi Technical University (TTU) belonging to a group called Patriotic Internationals (PI) have described the selection of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly called Napo, as the running mate of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer in the upcoming general election, as a wise one.
According to the lecturers, Napo’s competence, confidence, and soft heartedness make him the perfect person to partner Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to clinch victory in the December 7 general election.
“We the leadership and all members of the Patriotic Intellectuals of the NPP, have no doubt that together, the two will be able to change the narrative of the Ghanaian people for the better,” the group added.
This was contained in a statement issued by the group and jointly signed by two leading members – Michael Asare Appiah and Prof. Eric Bruce-Amartey Jnr.
“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to H.E. Dr. Bawumia, Flagbearer of the NPP for his wise, strategic, and thoughtful decision in choosing Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate,” the statement noted.
It said the decision reflects Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to progress and development of the country, adding, “And we have full confidence in their ability to lead Ghana towards a brighter future.”
“PI can attest to Napo’s strong sense of duty, passion for serving the Ghanaian people, and steadfast confidence in his abilities to bring about positive change,” it added.
The group urged Ghanaians not to be swayed by false perceptions but rally behind the NPP flagbearer and his running mate as they will continue to fight for a better future for all Ghanaians.
