Joseph Boateng, aka Small Pepper and Hashiru Zurukanini, aka Scare Them
THE KADJEBI District Police Command has arrested Joseph Boateng, alias Afriyie or Small Pepper, 37 and Hashiru Zurukanini, alias Scare Them, 27, for the offences of abetment of defilement at their hideout in Kadjebi, in the Oti Region.
Same day, the police received a report that, Joseph Boateng accosted a 15-year-old girl (name withheld) who was returning home after fetching water, and promised to charm GH¢2,000 for her.
Thereafter, the suspect lured the victim to his house at Kadjebi Cocoa Market and made suspect Hashiru Zurukanini, alias Scare Them, a driver, to have sexual intercourse with her, under the pretext of using Hashiru Zurukanini’s sperms for the charm.
The accused persons were arraigned before the Jasikan Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Lambert Yinigabague Keriba.
A statement signed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police Public Affairs Unit/Oti Region, John Chor, disclosed that the accused persons were convicted and sentenced each to seven (7) years’ imprisonment in hard labour for the offences of abetment of defilement and defilement.
