Roman Fada
Former presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Philip Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada, has called on Ghanaians to exercise their voting rights wisely in the upcoming elections.
This comes after his disqualification from the presidential race due to irregularities in his nomination forms.
Roman Fada, who was chosen to replace the late Akua Donkor as the GFP’s presidential candidate, emphasised the importance of selecting leaders with a proven track record of serving the nation.
Speaking in an interview with DAILY GUIDE, he urged citizens to look beyond political party affiliations and focus on the qualities and policies of each candidate.
Roman Fada highlighted the importance of voting sensibly and avoiding deceitful tactics, cautioning voters against being influenced by political ploys and false promises often used to sway decisions.
He also encouraged Ghanaians to prioritise their faith in God rather than relying solely on politicians to improve their lives.
To ensure the integrity of the electoral process, he urged political parties to ensure their representatives conduct themselves appropriately during the elections.
Roman Fada appealed to the youth to resist any attempts by political figures to exploit their challenges for violent purposes.
He also called on the media to exercise caution in their election coverage by avoiding comments or reports that could jeopardise national security and peace.
He expressed confidence that the Electoral Commission (EC) and security forces would work together to maintain order at polling stations and collation centres.
Meanwhile, Roman Fada has accused the EC of deliberately barring him from the presidential race.
He described the EC’s decision as unfair to him and his party, asserting that the Commission’s action was unlawful, unjust and discriminatory.
He argued that his exclusion undermines the country’s democratic process.
