The management of Wa All Stars has called on the Ethics Committee of the Ghana Football Association to invite New Edubiase striker Prince Antwi for questioning following a match fixing allegation he made against the league leaders after their solitary win at Bekwai over the weekend.
The player, Prince Antwi, in an interview with Dess FM, a Bekwai-based radio station, alleged that his side New Edubiase and Wa All Stars fixed their fifth week fixture which the leaders won by a lone goal in Wa.
According to the player, there was an arrangement between the two clubs for Wa All Stars to win the first leg in Wa while New Edubiase win the second leg in Bekwai.
The player then felt disappointed when the league leaders won again at Bekwai last weekend.
But in a statement addressing the allegation, the Wa-based club has called on the Ethics Committee of the FA to invite the player for questioning and to provide evidence of his claim.
“We are, therefore, by this release also calling on the Ethics Committee of the FA to invite the said player Prince Antwi to come and prove his allegation or be given the necessary disciplinary measures,” the statement read.
The Wa side then assured the FA of their full cooperation if they are invited for questioning.
“We are assuring the FA of management’s full cooperation in this matter to unearth the truth or otherwise of the allegation,” it added.
