Western Region Honours President Akufo-Addo With Life-Size Statue

The Western Region of Ghana has unveiled a life-size statue in honour of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, recognizing his administration’s significant contributions to the region’s development.

Located in front of the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, the monument was revealed during the President’s recent “Thank You” tour of the Western Region.

Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah led the unveiling ceremony, highlighting several landmark projects initiated under President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
Darko-Mensah praised President Akufo-Addo for spearheading major developments, particularly the initiation of a petroleum hub project in Western Nzema.

This project is expected to generate over 780,000 jobs, offering substantial opportunities to the region’s youth.

The statue’s installation has sparked mixed reactions among residents.

While some see it as a well-deserved recognition of the president’s contributions, others question its necessity, fueling a broader public debate on its significance and timing.

This honour comes as President Akufo-Addo nears the end of his term, leaving a legacy of developmental achievements in the Western Region.
