Celebrated music act, Samini, has been taking his time to respond to some of his followers and fans who are not happy he recently decided to endorse Akufo-Addo’s presidency for four more years.
According to Samini, he chose the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Akufo-Addo over National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama because of his good leadership.
The Akyesaa crooner was replying to a Twitter follower who asked him why they should vote for Akufo-Addo “to do what exactly”.
He responded saying, “To continue the good leadership bro. In my humble singular opinion sir… we may share similar opinions or agree to disagree but that’s what makes democracy beautiful. Make a choice and see you on 7th December bro.”
Ghana will be going to the polls on December 7 to elect new leaders. Elections in Ghana in recent years have however been about NPP and NDC. It has always been a tight race between the two parties. The NPP believes 2020 is a cool win for them because of its major policies but NDC says it will also win.
The Linda hitmaker made a lot of headlines couple of weeks ago when he came out to publicly declare support for NPP to win 2020 elections.
His endorsement came with a beautiful campaign song titled Kpoyaka. In the song, he highly praised Akufo-Addo and his government, and urged Ghanaians and his loyal fans to vote for him.
He described him as original, hardworking, competent and someone who is known by the international community for his good governance. The song basically touted Akufo-Addo’s achievements in government.
But some of his followers who are sympathetic to the opposition NDC are not happy with the endorsement. The reason Samini has been explaining for them to understand the beauty of democracy.
