Wontumi, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah and other party gurus at the function
The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Wontumi, has strongly endorsed the candidature of Mr. Freddie Blay, who is vying for the national chairmanship position of the party.
Wontumi, who has a lot of authority and influence in the NPP, especially in the Ashanti Region, has pointed out that Mr. Blay is the right choice for the NPP.
In this regard, he has appealed passionately to the NPP delegates across the country to vote massively for Mr. Blay in Koforidua on Saturday, July 7, 2018.
He stated: “Freddie Blay is the perfect choice to lead the NPP as chairman to retain political power in 2020 and I am urging party delegates to give him their votes in large numbers”.
Wontumi was convinced that Mr. Blay would win the most enviable party position with a landslide, stressing that “I am for Blay and he will win big on Saturday”.
Speaking during the official opening of NPP constituency office at Affigya Kwabre South on Monday, he stressed that NPP needs a unifier as national chairman.
“Mr. Blay is a unifier, a team player and an accommodative person; hence we urgently need him as our chairman to help make victory 2020 easier for the NPP”, he asserted.
He, therefore, vowed to use his personal resources and energy to campaign vigorously for Mr. Blay to win the polls “so that he can lead us to victory as he did in 2016”.
Wontumi disclosed that the founding fathers of NPP such as Busia, Dombo and Dankwa were also behind Mr. Blay in the spiritual realm.
He cautioned that if the NPP delegates make a mistake to vote for a different person, definitely the party would experience problems in 2020.
He notes that if Blay is elected as NPP chairman, it will motivate followers of the smaller political parties in the country to vote for the NPP to retain power in 2020.
The Affigya Kwabre South Constituency executives and members decided to name the party’s conference room after their hard working chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah.
Wontumi charged other constituencies in the region to emulate the shining example of NPP Affigya Kwabre South by building offices that befit the status of the party.
