Chief Brimah Appoints Otunba

Alhaji Bunyamin Brimah

The Chief of Yoruba in the Greater Accra Region, Oba Hamza Brimah VIII, in consultation with the executives of the Yoruba Community of Ghana, has appointed Alhaji Bunyamin Brimah aka Billy as Otunba.

The position bestows upon Bunyamin the responsibility of serving as the Oba’s right hand man or his Chief of Staff.

Billy, as he is fondly called, doubles as the Assistant General Secretary of the Council of Zongo Chiefs, the umbrella body of heads of ethnic groups within the Zongo communities.

Billy, who was born and bred in Tudu, Accra, attended the Accra Academy and has contributed immensely towards the development of the Zongos.

He has pledged to discharge his new duties with commitment and loyalty to the new chief.

He is already working towards ensuring that the impasse which bedeviled the installation of Chief Hamza Brimah is put behind members of the community.

Yesterday, prayers were said at the Chief Brimah Palace in Okaishie, Accra for peace in the Brimah family, the Yoruba community in Ghana and the country at large.
