The 2018 Golden Movie Awards Africa (GMAA) to celebrate excellence in the movie industry will be held on June 2, 2018 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

The ceremony will kick off with a red carpet at 4:00 pm while the main show will start at 7:30pm, according to a statement released from the organisers on Tuesday.

With barely three weeks to the event, the organisers say the event will bring together filmmakers across the continent to celebrate and award deserving filmmakers.

Meanwhile, the nomination announcement will be held in Ivory Coast on May 20, 2018, where the various categories of the qualified films will be announced.

The organisers have also added that the award scheme is for the film industry and not for profit making.

To attend the event, one has to simply apply on the website www.goldenmovieawards.com for tickets to the event.

The awards ceremony is expected to attract a large number of stakeholders in the movie industry across Africa.

GMAA is an annual event that seeks to award excellence in movie making on the African continent and the African Diaspora.

Instituted and organised by NMJ Ghana and its partners, the GMAA brings together professionals in filmmaking in Africa once every year to celebrate, promote and reward those who have excelled in their area of filmmaking.
