South Sudan’s MPs Take Oath of Office

Some 588 Members of Parliament (MPs) have been sworn into South Sudan’s newly created national parliament.

The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday, August 2, 2021.

Local media reports say the move is in fulfillment of a “fragile peace deal”.

DGN Online understands that the MPs are from both the ruling party and former rebel factions.
