Music star, Gyakie has declared that 2026 will be her year, as she outlined bold plans for new music, tours and visuals.

The singer made the statement at the maiden edition of Billboard Africa’s Editors’ Table event held in Accra, where she shared her vision for her craft and Ghana’s place on the global music map.

Asked what she hopes to communicate about Ghana through her music and international presence, Gyakie — born Jackline Acheampong — pointed to the country’s rich creative heritage.

“I want the world to know how versatile and talented the musicians from here are and how Highlife music has been able to bring up so many legends from here,” she said.

She added that Ghana remains a destination for anyone seeking tranquillity, culture and creativity.

“If you’re looking for peace of mind, good food, good culture and good music, Ghana is the right place to come to,” she noted.

Touching on her future plans, Gyakie revealed that with her 2026 album already released, she is preparing for an active year filled with performances and fresh projects.

“Just know that 2026 is Gyakie’s year,” she declared confidently.

The Afro-fusion and R&B singer continues to build on a strong musical foundation influenced by her father, legendary Highlife musician, Nana Acheampong, as she cements her place on the international stage.
