Kasser-Tee addressing dignitaries
THE CHARTERED Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) has launched the 35th edition of the CIMG Annual National Marketing Performance Awards.
National President of the Institute, Dr. Daniel Kasser-Tee, said the awards scheme is organised annually, to among other things, create awareness about the relevance of marketing for running successful businesses, promoting higher standards for marketing performance, and also to champion the interests of consumers.
“We, therefore, seize this opportune time to renew our commitment to recognising and promoting outstanding marketing performance in Ghana,” he said.
As one of the oldest award schemes in Ghana, Kasser-Tee acknowledges the enormous support and donors from organizations the solid commitment of the team of assessors and the trust and confidence reposed in them by the Ghanaian public.
“Let me end by encouraging marketing practitioners and businesses to continue championing the spirit of innovation, creativity, and excellence in marketing as we work together to promote the interests and rights of the Ghanaian consumer,” he added.
Speaking about the 2023 Ghana Regional Brand Index (GH-RBI) publication, Kasser-Tee said it is a testament to CIMG’s relentless pursuit of excellence and the importance they attach to leveraging research to promote regional brands as a means to the bigger agenda of marketing Ghana as a corporate brand
Vice President Of CIMG and Chairman of the Awards Planning and Selection Committee, Theodore Osae, said the institute is determined to maintain high standards, ensuring that the criteria for evaluating individual and corporate performances are not compromised.
“We are dedicated to keeping the awards process simple, transparent, and fair. This commitment has propelled us, as a responsive institution, to consistently introduce new ideas to enhance the categories, processes, and procedures,” he said.
Theodore Osae added that in recent years, the institute has successfully implemented an online system for nominees to complete the awards questionnaire and for judges, selected from various industries, to conduct their assessments.
This setup, according to him, has enabled CIMG to uphold a rigorous process, maintaining both standards and credibility.
The 35th annual National Marketing Performance Awards is titled, “Harnessing the Power of AI as a Transformative Tool for Marketers.” This theme reflects current global trends, and the ways businesses are embracing new technology.
The Awards cover 6 major competitive areas which are Hall of Fame, Personality, Media and Marketing Communications organizations, Business organizations, Products, and Not-for-Profit organisations.
There is a non-competitive award category known as the CIMG President’s Special Awards which are given to noticeable female and male achievers in any endeavour, or a business entity, product, or service that has positively contributed to national progress.
