PERSONNEL FROM the Community One District Police Headquarters have rounded up four persons who reportedly burgled African Star Cold Store at the Tema Heavy Industrial Area.
Names of the suspects were given as Mohammed Latif, Robert Atibila, Eric Opoku and Kojo Mensah.
Four others, including a female, are at large and police have mounted a manhunt for their arrests.
Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE indicated that the suspects made a frivolous case against two security men at the cold store that they had stolen their motorbikes, and when the police invited the security men for questioning, the suspects took advantage of their absence to ransack the cold store.
Unfortunately for them, the police read through their tricks and in the course of the ‘operation’, the law enforcement agents pounced on them.
Chief Superintendent Stephen Kwakye told DAILY GUIDE that on November 9, 2019, while the team was on patrol, they had intelligence that the suspects conspired to break into the cold store.
“The suspects were loading cartons of fish into two Man Diesel trucks with registration numbers GN 6328-15 and GN 6388-14 when they were caught.” He said the value of the fish the suspects were loading was over GH¢50,000.
