Deceased Akua Denteh
Five persons have been arrested by the Savannah Regional Police Command in connection with the killing of the 90 year old woman at Kafaba in the East Gonja municipality of the Savannah Region.
The suspects are Haruna Aness 34, Issaka Tanko 35, Shaibu Murtala 29, Sulemana Ali 35 and Issaka Sachebu 32.
Information gathered by DGN Online indicates that a benevolent has placed a GHC 5,000 reward for anybody who can assist the police to arrest the main suspect and soothsayer, Hajia Filipina.
Savannah Regional Police Commander, DCOP Enoch Adetwum Bediako who confirmed the arrest to DGN Online said the suspects were arrested after the chief of Kafaba Seidu Yahaya assisted police to investigate the incident.
DCOP Bediako disclosed that the Kafaba Chief is still in their custody and that his fate will be decided later today by the police.
According to him, the five suspects arrested will be arraigned before the Bole district court today.
He appealed to the public to help identify the people in the video to aid police in arresting the perpetrators.
Madam Akua Denteh, 90-year-old woman was lynched at Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality in the Savannah Region.
The woman was openly beaten to death by Hajia Filipina,the soothsayer with support from a mob in the community.
